The Battle I Chose
Updated: May 5, 2020

Great life with glorious death!
Mourning has a nice melodic tone...
A day weeping dries before dawn!
Sacrifice is just a hot hashtag...
Funeral becomes celebration
Death is a dusk drama here...
A Fallen solider is their hero
Who was my hero
When he lived himself...
Sudden strike of patriotism
Breaks the silence of social media...
Tri-colour costs coffin
Costly bill for freedom I have ever paid...
Big crowd with loud voice
Murmurs your valiant acts
What I hear as chore from you
I feel suffocated...
Wish to be alone with you
To listen your last escapade...
Get a slap from me for
Taking your vows along with you...
Sitting in the dinning
where you fed me!
Sleeping in the bed
where you held me!
Cooking in the kitchen
where you helped me!
Wondering in the garden
where you played me...
Emptiness everywhere! Alone...
yet the nation
Asks me to be brave...
Smiling with pain
Behaving bravely...
When I lost the life I had...
Not often!
yet the countable days
Had the aroma of my pulse...
One amongst the fallen heroes
For Nation!
But For me..
I had only one of you.
I too proud of yourself
For taking the bullets on chest...
But what should I do
for leaving me behind where
I have all your smell around me...
My eyes witnessed you smart
Majestic with a smile on face...
Now silent even I stand near you
Without winking at me, stagnant...
But I live with no retreat
As this is the battle I chose
To fight beside you...
I love with no regrets
As this is the life I chose
To share with you...
